| First one: (Posted in the Bible Study thread) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This particular page is called "Unfailing threads," By Gigi Graham Tchividjian. "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12 The Word of God is a living Word; it is the person of Jesus Christ, HImself, revealed to us. Psalm 119 says that the Word cleanses, strengthens, delights, teaches, saves, comforts, directs, and gives understanding. What a resource! I am so grateful that I was taught early in my life to use this resource; to draw strength from it; to use it in seeking direction and guidance; to employ it in times of discouragement, disappointment, and loneliness. There may come a day when we will no longer have the written Word of God. It is possible that it will have been taken away from us. But no one will ever be able to take away what we have hidden in our hearts and minds. Even if we do have our printed Bibles to refer to, reciting memorized Scripture is a simple way of abiding in God's Word all during the day. Be sure to weave the unfailing threads of God's Word through the fabric of your heart and mind. It will hold strong, even if the rest of life unravels. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ New one will be coming shortly. | |

| Well, I'll post one until Kat does.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ God's Timing By Kathy Triccoli
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I put my hope. Psalm 130:5
I want to do. I want to say. I want to act. I'm so guilty of getting in the way of God's timing. To learn to wait has been so difficult for me. I want to "fix" things quickly: the comment someone said about me; the comment I said about someone; the sudden news that turns my whole world upside down; the misunderstanding; the wanting to prove my point or the validity of my character; the uncomfortable changes life often brings.
I would like God to involve Himself in my circumstance according to my timing and my agenda. I forget how holy and perfect His ways, His timing, and His agenda are. Yet, over and over, I see that when I wait, letting Him be God, then He is God.
The circumstances of life can embitter any of us at any time. But if we allow it, God's grace and love can empower us and help us move through these times victoriously. As Oswald Chambers says, "It is not our circumstance, but God in our circumstance." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | |
